Program Manager - Strategic Partnerships & Manufacturing
(Remote/Hybrid available/In-State Travel Required)
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The NAMC Program Manager – Strategic Partnerships and Manufacturing is responsible for managing programs to support the Northeast Advanced Manufacturing Consortium’s apprenticeship programs, employer engagement activities, training programs, and manufacturing supply chain. This role involves overseeing the seamless execution of initiatives aimed at fostering growth and innovation in the manufacturing sector.
The NAMC Program Manager – Strategic Partnerships and Manufacturing will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of apprenticeship programs, facilitating meaningful engagement with employers, and implementing effective training initiatives. This position will collaborate with MassHire Workforce Boards and Career Center staff, NAMC staff, advisory boards, employers, and training providers to align efforts with industry needs and drive impactful outcomes.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Building and Strengthening Manufacturing Employer Relationships
- Creatively and collaboratively support efforts to maintain and expand manufacturing in Massachusetts.
- Foster and facilitate innovative and collaborative initiatives to sustain and expand the manufacturing sector in Massachusetts.
- Develop professional relationships with manufacturing companies in the Northeast region, primarily by on-site meetings with company leadership, listening to and ascertaining their employee development requirements and training needs.
- Collaborate with NAMC's advisory board to ensure that the curriculum and training resources are aligned with the evolving industry demands.
- Work closely with NAMC staff and partner organizations to establish robust supply chain connections between emerging manufacturing startups and established, mature manufacturing firms. This network will effectively support the local development of new manufactured products and processes.
- Contribute to the overall marketing strategy in close collaboration with the NAMC Executive Director. Leverage social media platforms to promote the organization's brand by sharing engaging promotional content and actively engaging with our existing customer base.
Registered Apprenticeship Coordination
- Foster close collaboration and establish strong working relationships with MassHire Workforce Boards, Career Centers, training providers, employers, the Massachusetts Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS), and the NAMC staff. This collaboration aims to explore and maximize registered apprenticeship opportunities, facilitate program development, align resources, ensure adherence to policies, and stay updated on relevant industry developments.
- Overseeing, managing, and meticulously tracking all aspects of NAMC's apprenticeship data and documentation. This includes key metrics, apprenticeship program development, employer engagement, work processes, and coordination with suppliers of Related Technical Instruction.
Data and Reporting
- Collaborate on the comprehensive management of databases, proactively identifying areas for improvement in data systems and implementing enhancements to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
- Take ownership of generating and delivering timely and accurate apprenticeship data updates on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. These updates are crucial for grant reporting, annual reviews, and the seamless operation of NAMC resources.

Although the selected candidate will be able to choose in-office, hybrid, or remote work arrangements, this position will require travel to in-person staff meetings, employer meetings, training provider meetings, and manufacturing events; primarily but not exclusively in the Northeast region of Massachusetts.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Multiple years’ experience in the hardware manufacturing industry.
- Ability to work collaboratively and team build with manufacturers, workforce development teams and academia professionals.
- Ability to travel to visit Massachusetts manufacturers and schools.
- Ability to perform manufacturing employer outreach to continue to add new employers to the Northeast Advanced Manufacturing Consortium.
- Possess public speaking skills for addressing groups, ie. high school students, job seekers, workforce development professionals and manufacturers.
- Desire to work with manufacturers in to help address their hiring and training needs.
- Desire to work with job seekers (unemployed/underemployed and high school graduates) highlighting the opportunities for a career in manufacturing and available training programs.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with cross functional teams.
- Effective time management skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Willingness to attend occasional evening and weekend events.
- Desire to work as part of a team, including group reflection, receiving, and giving feedback and honoring the strengths/passions of all team members.
The most qualified candidates might have experience with:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Experience using social media platforms to promote and strengthen an organization’s brand.
- Experience in the field of workforce development.
- Experience with Registered Apprenticeships.
- Experience with data collection, management, analysis or research report production.
