Job Description

Executive Office of the Governor

Internship Program

The Executive Office of the Governor (EOG) internships create an ongoing partnership between students and 12 different divisions within the EOG, where students gain practical, real-world experience, networking opportunities, and a competitive edge for employment opportunities with the State of Michigan.

Some of the characteristics of a successful internship search require taking initiative and being proactive, finding ways to stand out and differentiate yourself, being resilient and adaptable if your first plan doesn’t come together.

Interns are invited to share fresh perspectives, creativity, and utilize innovative technologies to help Michigan maintain its place as a leader in state government. In addition to providing an effective way for students to gain experience in their chosen career paths, the Internship program also satisfies credit requirements at hundreds of colleges and universities, with all majors and fields of study accepted.

Students must be enrolled in at least one college or university level course during the internship semester. Internship semester periods generally fall during the following timeframes:

  • Fall: September-December
  • Winter/Spring: January-May
  • Summer: June-August
