Job Description
Public Policy Manager, Cybersecurity
(Menlo Park, CA - Washington, DC)
Facebook's mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. Through our family of apps and services, we're building a different kind of company that connects billions of people around the world, gives them ways to share what matters most to them, and helps bring people closer together. Whether we're creating new products or helping a small business expand its reach, people at Facebook are builders at heart. Our global teams are constantly iterating, solving problems, and working together to empower people around the world to build community and connect in meaningful ways. Together, we can help people build stronger communities — we're just getting started.
As the importance and impact of the Facebook family of companies continues to grow, so does the cybersecurity risk to the company and the likelihood that our platforms will be used to cause harm. The Facebook Product Policy team is dedicated to understanding these risks and crafting policies that govern acceptable use of our platform so that we can identify and take action against those who would use our platform for malicious purposes.
We are looking for a Cybersecurity Public Policy Manager to work directly with our head of Product Policy and our Chief Security Officer in building a long-term strategy to accomplish this mission and to represent Facebook with key stakeholders in government and civil society. This role will help the company understand the global geopolitical forces impacting Internet security and apply them to our work to protect users. They will bridge the technical work of our teams with the human and policy impact, and will have a chance to shape products used by billions of people.
This position will be located at our headquarters in Menlo Park, California or in our Washington DC Office, and global travel to support our international teams is expected.
