Job Description
Elevated Campaigns & Public Affairs is looking for an experienced business development professional to join our growing team of strategists and creative change-makers. This position would work closely with our senior leadership and would be primarily responsible for expanding our national presence in legislative/issue advocacy and/or electoral campaign work. This would include reaching out to new clients, pitching prospective clients, and responding to requests for proposals.

Primary Responsibilities
- Client Acquisition: Creating and implementing a business development plan, including research, networking, and market analysis that results in successfully securing new clients
- Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification: Staying current on industry trends and market dynamics to identify new opportunities to find clients and potential partnerships
- Strategic Partnerships: Cultivating and managing strategic partnerships with key organizations, vendors, and industry influencers that expands the portfolio of Elevated
- Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding and anticipating their needs, and offering solutions that align with our services and expertise
- Other key tasks as assigned to support Elevated’s work on behalf of its clients and business development goals.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required with relevant experience
- 5+ years of professional experience preferred in progressive political campaigns, public affairs and issue management, trade association advocacy, labor union or non-profit leadership, congressional or state legislative staffing, or related fields
- Deep connections in Democratic politics, progressive causes, labor unions, trade associations, and/or non-profit organizations
- Excellent communications abilities, including active follow-up skills, and strong writing and editing
- Good judgment and discretion with sensitive and confidential information and material
- Strong attention to detail, along with work ethic and pride in quality work
- Confidence to make new professional contacts, expand your network, and represent our firm
- A team attitude, willingness to grow and learn on the job, and good sense of humor
- Proven experience in client acquisition and strategic partnerships with a track record of achieving targets is a plus
Position Details
- This is a full-time, fully remote, W-2 position
- Required availability during business hours (9:00 am-5:00 pm Central) and occasional weekends and evenings
- Will require some domestic travel
- While applicants should be willing to work outside of standard business hours from time to time, Elevated values a work/life balance and allows for individuals to craft a work schedule that matches their needs within the guideline of being able to effectively support team and client schedules
- Position will report to Elevated’s Vice President for Strategy & Client Services
- Preferred start date in early 2024
Compensation & Benefits
- The base annual salary for this position will be $80,000 - $120,000 commensurate with experience. The position is focused on new business development, so compensation can be significantly enhanced with commissions on new business.
