Campaign Interns – Digital, Creative, and Admin Roles (Unpaid / College Credit Available)

Location: New York City (Remote + Occasional In-Person)

Hours: Flexible | Internship | Unpaid (College Credit / Bonus Potential)

Alina Bonsell, a GOP-nominated candidate running for City Council District 5 in New York City, is building a dedicated team to help her win the November 2025 general election.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain firsthand experience in a political campaign, build your portfolio, and work closely with a dynamic candidate making real change.

We are currently seeking interns and volunteers for the following key roles:

Immediate Open Positions:

1. Website & Digital Design Team

  • Help create and design Alina’s campaign website
  • Design printed and digital promotional materials (e.g. palm cards, posters, fundraising visuals)

2. Social Media & Content Creation

  • Videographers to film Alina at events or for promotional reels
  • Editors and creatives to assemble short-form videos and digital content
  • Social Media Manager to post and manage accounts, engage the public, and build following

3. Admin & Campaign Support

  • Support the campaign manager in event planning, coordinating creative efforts, and managing deadlines
  • Serve as a liaison between the candidate and various campaign contributors

4. Photographer

  • Capture high-quality photos at campaign events
  • Ideally has access to a studio (or is comfortable working in one we can rent for a shoot)

What We Offer:

  • Unpaid internship with college credit available
  • Ideal for students or recent grads interested in politics, media, design, or event coordination
  • Potential to qualify for visa extension support for international students
  • Transportation and meals covered during in-person campaign work
  • A $5,000 bonus per team member contingent upon meeting campaign fundraising goals

Work Format:

  • Mostly remote, with occasional in-person meetups and event attendance in NYC
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Weekly Zoom meetings or check-ins

1. Website & Digital Design Team Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience with website platforms like WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace
  • Basic understanding of UX/UI principles and responsive design
  • Graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Figma, etc.)
  • Ability to create clean, clear, and engaging digital materials for both print and web
  • Interest in branding, messaging, and political storytelling through design
  • Portfolio or class projects demonstrating relevant design work

2. Social Media & Content Creation Ideal Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Experience shooting and editing video (Reels, TikToks, short promos)
  • Comfort using video-editing tools (CapCut, iMovie, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro)
  • Ability to create content calendars, write captions, and manage posting schedules
  • Understanding of trends, hashtags, and engagement strategies
  • Experience growing a following or managing a brand or personal account is a plus

3. Admin & Campaign Support

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to track project timelines and communicate updates
  • Experience planning events or meetings (either professional or student-led)
  • Comfortable managing spreadsheets, emails, and light scheduling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to be a point person between teams and the candidate

4. Photographer Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience photographing events, portraits, or lifestyle/political content
  • Owns or has access to professional camera equipment
  • Can shoot both candid and posed shots in varied lighting
  • Ability to edit and deliver high-resolution images quickly
  • Access to or ability to arrange a photo studio is a plus
  • Comfortable directing subjects for campaign-ready photos

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Internship, Seasonal

Pay: Up to $5,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 8 – 15 per week
