It's up to you to make it happen.

What's the role?
The Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) is a coalition of leading financial institutions committed to accelerating the decarbonization of the global economy. Our members currently include over 450 financial firms responsible for assets in excess of $130 trillion across 45 countries. Members must use science-based guidelines to gain net-zero emissions, cover all emission scopes, include 2030 interim targets and commit to visible reporting and accounting.

Working with our partners who supervise the United Nations Race to Zero Campaign, we're passionate about broadening, deepening and raising net-zero ambitions across the financial system and demonstrating firms' collective commitments to supporting companies and countries to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. Learn more about GFANZ at www.gfanzero.com.

GFANZ's leadership team comprises Mark Carney, Nigel Topping, Michael Bloomberg, and Mary Schapiro. Bloomberg will be supporting the GFANZ Secretariat moving forward.

We are looking for a new member to join our team, specifically to support the Head of Global Public Policy, based in New York City! You're confident in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support-related tasks. You're used to maintaining effective lines of communication, keeping managers fully informed of all critical issues, but confident in making quick decisions and thinking on your feet. You are reliable, dedicated, organized, independent and very detail oriented. You feel comfortable communicating and interacting at senior levels, both internally and externally, and understand the need to uphold discretion in all matters. If you thrive in our dynamic and challenging environment, working on international programs, are resourceful, efficient and at ease with juggling shifting priorities, we would love to speak to you.

We'll trust you to:
  • Play a strategic role ensuring the Executive Director's time is used as effectively as possible, managing meetings, logistics and travel to ensure the success and efficiency of the initiative
  • Arrange domestic and international travel with attention and care to all logistics, including being available to the Executive Director during duration of travel
  • Run all administrative logistics and aspects related to this role
  • Track and submit business-related expenses via the Bloomberg expense management tool and with respect to the Executive Director's outside business travel
  • Prepare and consolidate meeting agendas, briefing memos and documents ahead of time
  • Complete tasks, assignments and projects in a timely manner. Work independently, prioritize critical tasks - often with little direct supervision
  • Develop talking points, conduct high-level background research on topics of interest, deep dives on relevant technical areas, to support the development of briefing materials
  • Support event logistics including preparing content for external/public meetings (e.g., events/roundtables/etc.) such as agendas and concept notes
  • Create, edit and proofread general communications (e.g., presentations, memos) on behalf of the Executive
  • Exercise professional demeanor and attitude. Uphold confidentiality in regard to the team, business and employees
You'll need to have:
  • 5+ years of experience as an Executive Assistant*
  • Bachelor's degree
  • A strong interest in building the skills and background to grow in the field of climate finance
  • Experience as an Assistant or Coordinator supporting more than one manager simultaneously within an organization
  • Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (including formulas)
  • Demonstrated effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills with proven experience with both long form research documents, in addition to short technical memos
  • Strong collaborator who understands the complexity of entertaining multiple audiences and navigating their diverse interests and goals
  • Excellent organizational abilities and can balance multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • The ability to balance immediate and long-term priorities
  • Strong critical thinker with deep attention to detail
  • Proactive problem solver
    • Please note we use years of experience as a guide, but we will certainly consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary for the role.
