Reports to: Research Director
Position Summary:
The Rapid Response Researcher role will assist the Research Director on immediate research needs including crisis response, opportunities to hold Republicans accountable, and national issues. The ideal candidate will have previous opposition research experience and a desire to move quickly in responding to events as they unfold. The Rapid Response Researcher must have a keen eye for potentially relevant political news and an ability to keep a cool head under pressure.
Responsibilities Include:
Writing pitch documents detailing opposition research on House Republicans;
Writing pushback documents to rebut incoming attacks with contrary evidence;
Monitoring news and identifying opportunities to go on offense against Republican House candidates;
Coordinating with the Communications team to advance the Committee’s message goals;
Vetting research, as needed.
Requirements:
1-2 cycles of opposition research experience (other relevant experience will be considered);
Flexibility to quickly change projects in a fast-paced environment and work with different teams within the Research Department;
Demonstrated ability to nail the details of any assignment;
Self-motivation, as well as a strong commitment to teamwork;
Excellent organizational, written and verbal communications skills;
Proactively fosters an inclusive atmosphere and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion;
Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence – the awareness, knowledge and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant and productive ways.

About the DCCC:
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, digital strategy, research support and management consulting.
