Position description

This role monitors, evaluates and understands international relationships and regulatory issues and assesses potential impact on Mayo Clinic in coordination with other departments and subject matter experts. Working closely with Mayo Clinic International's leadership team, the Manager also contributes to strategic planning, communications and compliance where appropriate. Ongoing monitoring of geopolitical developments in key regions and management of external consulting resources are also key elements of this position. The manager must have the ability to work in a complex environment with multi-dimensional points of view and is self-motivated, organized and serves as a professional ambassador for Mayo Clinic. Belief in the mission and strong ethical conduct is essential. This position requires occasional travel.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and five to seven years of international relations, public policy, government relations or public service experience is required. A Master's degree is preferred.

Additional qualifications

Experience working with an international organization or business is preferred. Requires excellent skills in oral and written communications, critical thinking and active listening. The incumbent must be able to work effectively in a consensus-style operation that expects and promotes teamwork. Must be comfortable with ambiguity. Must possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences. The ability to work independently, work with multiple projects and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality is essential.
