Duties

The position is the health communication advisor to the CDC Haiti Country Director. Develop and implement communication strategy that promotes information sharing learning between CDC-Haiti and other local and international agencies and organizations, as well as the general public. The incumbent will be the official spokesperson and Public Relations representative for CDC-Haiti.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in Public Health or Communications in Haiti is required. An additional two years of managerial or supervisory responsibility with multiple staffing reporting is required.

Education Requirements:

Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Policy, Public Policy, Business, Communications, Law, or Public Administration or host country equivalent is required

Evaluations:

Incumbent must possess advanced oral and written communications skills in both French/Creole and English and be an active listener. The incumbent must have

excellent organizational skills and proven ability to work independently to deliver projects within deadlines; the ability to work collaboratively in a team structure

in multicultural environment; local host government and USG political sensitivities; excellent networking skills; and excellent computer skills with experience/ training for

word processing, spreadsheets, communicate within CDC Haiti and with other entities regarding communication issues, to effectively organize and plan during

crisis situations and ability to anticipate and plan for communications needs and to support staff with all aspects of health diplomacy and communications.

LANGUAGE:

English: Fluency – speaking/reading/writing is required. “This will be tested”

French: Fluency - speaking/reading/writing is required.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Port-au-Prince/ Haiti may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the Human Resources Office.
