Our programs focus on critical environmental issues including climate change, emissions reduction, and environmental and climate justice.
The Clean Vehicles Campaign, is a program of the Partnership Project.
CLEAN VEHICLES CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW:
The Clean Vehicles Campaign (CVC) is an unbranded coalition of nearly 60 groups from various areas dedicated to advancing policies to reduce pollution from cars, trucks, buses and other vehicles. CVC works to leverage existing infrastructure, resources, and assets and collaborates with allied coalitions.
In the next year, the CVC seeks to accelerate the drive to an all-electric future in the transportation sector with a robust U.S. manufacturing sector, strong labor standards, and equitable resource deployment.
The Clean Vehicles Campaign is a project of the Partnership Project.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Clean Vehicles Campaign seeks a Senior Outreach Manager to add to our growing team. This person will work under the Deputy Director to support the Campaign's mission and maintain strong working relationships with coalition members, allies, the campaign’s fiscal sponsor and other key stakeholders.
Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communications skills, and a strong attention to detail as well as organizing and relationship building. Additionally, candidates should be excited and eager to be part of a small team and enjoy collaborating with staff and consultants.
While the Senior Outreach Manager will report to the Deputy Director, they will work with all of the CVC team. DC Office, in person work is required and some travel (up to 10%) is possible. COVID Vaccination required for in person work.
PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Outreach Manager carries out the day to day tasks of supporting the Federal Clean Vehicles Campaign Coalition, and monitors and manages the relationships with coalition partners, under the direction of the Deputy Director.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
STRATEGY & PLAN DEVELOPMENT (15%)
- Support the management of a comprehensive program budget that clearly tracks centralized and decentralized investments in support of the Clean Vehicles campaign plan.
- Develop and manage comprehensive timeline to track potential opportunities for campaign engagement including but not limited to: congressional recess; administrative processes (NHTSA, EPA, and CARB schedules); industry and marquee events (earnings calls, auto shows); and other campaign generated events and organizing moments
COMMUNITY COORDINATION (85%)
Support the Coalition
- Liaises with all members of the coalition through consistent 1:1s, providing information about campaign activity, finding opportunities for further activation in campaign initiatives, and collecting information that can help inform campaign activities.
- Develops strategy for coalition management and for campaign initiatives.
- Liaises with the communications team on the status and progress of all partner activities.
- Create and utilize a Clean Vehicles Coalition Tracker to track membership in the campaign, current status of what’s happening with each organization, participation in campaign initiatives, etc. keeping it updated to provide real-time information on coalition status.
- Works with Program Assistant to track members of the coalition, ensuring that people are added to appropriate lists and providing connectivity.
Engage External Stakeholders
- Support the development of toolkits and presentations for allies and partners to brief stakeholders on the campaign and the opportunity to engage. Identify core tools and ramp up materials for distinct constituencies.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Organizing experience
- Coalition management experience, or engagement
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Passion for building and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency at handling multiple priorities, working efficiently and collaboratively, and taking initiative.
Other qualifications include:
- Competency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- An ability to be team player who works well with others and can manage multiple projects, including in urgent situations
- A willingness to take initiative, exercise good judgment, and use diplomacy and discretion
- A creative thinker willing to test drive new ideas
- Proactive, self-driven individual with a willingness to learn and ask questions
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The target salary for this position is $90,000-98,000, depending on experience. This is an Exempt position in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
