Trade Research Coordinator (Labor) (Bilingual / Spanish)

EXECUTIVE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT


Summary

This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), Office of Labor Affairs (OLA). The incumbent works under the direction of the Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for OLA and other senior OLA staff. Spanish language ability, such that incumbent can conduct oral interviews in Spanish and research documents and other information written in Spanish.


Duties

As a Trade Research Coordinator (Labor) (Bilingual / Spanish), GS-0301-11/12, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:


Coordinates and conducts research and analytical projects focused on trade and labor issues, as well as supports the Interagency Labor Committee for Monitoring and Enforcement of the United States, Mexico and Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Assists OLA personnel in formulating and developing U.S. policy positions on trade and labor issues, and in preparing briefing materials, reports, public remarks and Congressional testimony for higher level policy makers within USTR, as appropriate.

Coordinates research and analysis projects on a variety of trade and labor issues relating to the mission of OLA, including by reviewing source materials written in the foreign languages.

Reviews, analyzes and summarizes domestic and foreign trade and labor policies and practices, laws, regulations and other measures, negotiating proposals, economic and trade data, and other information relating to the mission of OLA.

Assists OLA personnel in compiling information to be used in reports, briefing materials, Congressional testimony, responses to controlled correspondence, etc.

Uses a variety of software to prepare economic and labor reports, charts, graphs, tables, etc.

Duties listed below are at the GS-12 level, developmental grades will differ in complexity and level of supervision.
