Job Description
BGT Strategies is a multi-dimensional consulting and advocacy firm based in Dallas, Texas. We are seeking qualified policy interns to serve our diverse clientele. Interns will work across the firm’s strategic pillars: lobbying and political consulting, community engagement, campaign management, business development, and communications. Applicants are expected to stay organized and manage multiple projects at once. Interns will work on a variety of tasks individually and in collaboration with colleagues, clients, and other firms on occasion.
Responsibilities:
- Research and advocate for specific policies related to housing and community development
- Participate in community outreach through phone-banking, e-mail communications, block-walking, and other activities
- Support campaign and fundraising events
- Staff events including set-up, check-in, and tear-down
- Research and author BGT Strategies’ and respective clients’ newsletters
- Assist with business development by putting together proposals and pitch decks as needed
- Monitor relevant Dallas City Council, regional, and State Legislative meetings and briefings
Requirements:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
- Comfortable analyzing and summarizing legislation and policy proposals
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience using Canva or another graphic design software and social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn a plus
