SHE-CAN (Supporting Her Education Changes A Nation) is a Mill Valley based non-profit that builds female global leadership in post-conflict and climate-impacted countries. We help passionate young leaders win scholarships to U.S. colleges and universities, pair them with U.S. mentor teams who help them thrive in college, as well as extensive leadership training, to launch change-agent careers at home. To date, we have helped 136 young women from Rwanda, Cambodia, Liberia, and Guatemala win $40M+ in full scholarships at top U.S. colleges. About the Job:
SHE-CAN is seeking a full-time Advancement Coordinator. Reporting to the Advancement Manager, the Advancement Coordinator will work with the Advancement team and the CEO to execute the Sustainable Advancement Plan and to support the growth and reorganization of the Advancement Team. The primary responsibilities of the Advancement Coordinator will be in Donor Engagement & Gala Support and Salesforce Administration & Reporting.
Primary Responsibilities:
Donor Engagement & Gala Support:
Spearhead and manage outreach and materials for current and prospective donors.
Assist in drafting donor correspondence, appeals, acknowledgments, and event-related communications.
Support team in executing all stages of the gala, from planning, preparation, and follow up.
Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to create donor gratitude, social media posts, and fundraising appeals.
Manage donor acknowledgments via email and thank-you cards.
Salesforce Administration & Reporting:
Administer the Advancement Department’s usage of Salesforce to track donor opportunity relationship activity, including donor correspondence, and keep background information current and actionable.
Enter donations in a timely manner and reconcile with the Finance Department.
Support Salesforce projects as directed by the Advancement Department, and CEO.
Maintain clean, accurate, and up-to-date donor records.
Generate donor reports, revenue estimates, and dashboards to track overall fundraising progress including gala.
Provide data to support grant applications and donor presentations.
Additional Advancement Support:
Assist with grant research and application process tracking & materials.
Track deadlines and maintain development calendars.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the Advancement team.
Ideal Candidate:
Numbers Oriented: Adept at working with numerical data, spreadsheets and tables
Savvy writer: Skilled at crafting messages for donor outreach in emails and social media.
Salesforce or CRM Savvy: CRM experience is required, and ideal candidate is experienced and comfortable with Salesforce/CRM data management
Detail Oriented: Extremely organized when creating reports, donation totals, email drafts, and other materials
Eager to Manage own Tasks: Self-starting, entrepreneurial and creative, with ability to recognize opportunities and communicate goals and objectives clearly
Multi-Tasker: Thrives in a fast-paced environment

Benefits and Compensation:
Hours: This is a 40-hour-a-week salaried position, Monday-Friday from 9:30 AM-5:30 PM PT. The Advancement Coordinator will work virtually on Mondays and Fridays and be in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. As we get closer to the gala, October 3, 2026, we may need more in-person time. Attendance at the annual gala is required. As a global organization, numerous calls, meetings, and email correspondences occur outside of standard working hours, including weekends and evenings, and you will need to be accessible and occasionally work outside the stated hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required, but we strive to keep this to a minimum.
Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from $69,000 - $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
