Duties
Help
As the Assistant United States Trade Representative (AUSTR) for Agricultural Affairs, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Represent the United States in international trade negotiations on agricultural trade matters.
Serve as Assistant U.S. Trade Representative with responsibility for agricultural trade negotiations and policy coordination, including but not limited to market access, domestic support, tariffs, sanitary and phytosanitary matters, and technical barriers to trade.
Serve as an expert advisor to the United States Trade Representative (USTR) and Deputy United States Trade Representative (DUSTR), on policies and strategies relating to agriculture and agricultural trade policy.
Provide leadership within USTR for planning, directing and coordinating interagency activities on agricultural matters relating to all aspects of international trade policy development, international trade negotiations, and trade agreement monitoring and enforcement.
