Responsibilities
As a AUSTR for Western Hemisphere, ES-0301-00, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Represent the U.S. Trade Representative on a broad range of policy making and negotiating assignments.
Lead negotiations to develop, implement, and monitor U.S. trade agreements in the Western Hemisphere.
Explain and defend the Administration's trade policies to Congress, the public, and foreign counterparts.
Manage a staff of professional negotiators; assign work, projects and evaluate for compliance.
Represent USTR and chairs interagency groups for the formulation and implementation of U.S. trade policy.
