Job Description
Meguire Whitney, a boutique energy and environment lobbying firm representing community-focused electric utilities, seeks an Associate with 1-3 years experience to join our growing team.
The Associate will support three Principals and develop expertise in a wide range of issues related to energy and the environment. This team player will manage client reporting and fly-ins, so knowledge of the Hill and exceptional writing skills are a must. Additional job duties include researching issues and writing memos, representing clients in coalitions and at conferences, monitoring and reporting on legislative developments, and some administrative duties as needed.
Well-qualified candidates will have some experience on Capitol Hill, a federal agency, or at a lobbying firm (internships count!). Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, truly excellent writing skills, relevant professional experience, a knack for customer service and professionalism, and strong organizational skills.
A little about us: we're Meguire Whitney, a woman-owned firm based in Washington DC (but now fully remote). Our clients are not-for-profit electric systems (think the city light department or a rural cooperative) that are urgently decarbonizing their generation portfolios, electrifying buildings and transportation, and leading energy efficiency initiatives. We pride ourselves on our policy expertise, and we are looking to add an Associate to assist with both our lobbying practice and our grant writing practice.
Meguire Whitney offers a salary commensurate with experience, unlimited PTO, generous health, vision, and dental plan and 5% 401(k) match, as well as student loan repayment plans after 2 years with the firm. We strive to achieve a broadly diverse workplace and particularly encourage applications from candidates who may contribute to this goal.
To apply, please send a resume to jobs@meguirewhitney.com with ASSOCIATE in the subject line.
