This job focuses on driving U.S. public and policy-maker support for Ukraine by leveraging communications, community organizing, event planning, and stakeholder outreach to build broad-based support and translate that support into tangible policy impact.
Job Overview:
This role demands exceptional organizing and communication skills, with a focus on public speaking and persuasive writing, tailoring messaging for different demographics, including grassroots activists, policymakers, and the general public. The candidate will also be responsible for mapping key political geographies, identifying influential stakeholders, and planning and executing impactful events both virtually and in person, all while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in utilizing a variety of public engagement strategies, including digital tools, community organizing, to secure and sustain support for Razom’s established policy priorities from diverse grassroots, non-governmental, business, and community-based audiences.
The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of American politics, society, economics, and culture to the role in conjunction with a fluency in the U.S. – Ukraine bilateral relationship. The role requires an ability to translate U.S. policy towards Ukraine to disparate audiences and provide timely, effective responses to both private and public communications.
The position also requires strong interpersonal instincts and a proactive approach to relationship-building. The ideal candidate will be adept at moving fluidly through diverse group settings, initiating conversations, forging connections, and identifying opportunities for uplifting pro-Ukraine narratives in the public discourse. They must be comfortable navigating crowded or high-energy environments, approaching new contacts with ease and turning first interactions into meaningful partnerships.
A self-starter mindset, coupled with willingness to travel domestically and internationally, is crucial for success in this position.
Reporting to the Director of Public Engagement, this role will be a key member of the Public Engagement team, contributing to the overall success of Razom’s Advocacy Program.

Razom Advocacy, based in Washington DC, is a Razom program committed to advancing policy for Ukrainian victory and nurturing community engagement across the United States and Ukraine.
The Public Engagement (PE) Team is an integral component of Razom Advocacy, working with Ukraine supporters across the United States to build and sustain effective relationships with local activists and community leaders across the country. The PE Team routinely partners with business communities, civil society, faith-based leaders, academics, media outlets, diaspora communities and other stakeholders to cultivate support for a secure, prosperous, and democratic Ukraine.

Job Responsibilities:
• Propose and implement public engagement interventions in key geographic areas and translate those interventions into public policy wins by leveraging understanding of Ukraine’s war effort and U.S. politics, economics, and society.
• Generate a wide array of written products, including op-eds, white papers, briefing materials, and leave-behinds. Produce content quickly and efficiently, with minimal need for edits.
• Utilize a broad range of Public Engagement and advocacy tools, including digital campaigns, community organizing, public speaking, and media outreach, to effectively secure and maintain support for Ukraine among diverse grassroots and community-based audiences.
• Effectively initiate and maintain contact with diverse audiences, tailoring messaging to resonate with various demographics, including grassroots organizations, policymakers, and the general public. Steward newly built relationships and transform them into policy gains.
• Map key geographies, identifying key stakeholders, potential champions, community leaders, and local influencers to build targeted advocacy efforts and support for Ukraine within strategic regions.
• Plan, organize, and execute events, both virtual and in-person, that engage key stakeholders, build community support, and raise awareness of Ukraine-related initiatives, ensuring seamless logistics and impactful outcomes.
• Manage multiple competing priorities, deadlines, and deliverables in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritizing tasks, identifying knowledge gaps, and ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes despite a constant influx of requests and responsibilities.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability to use public engagement tools, such as digital campaigns, community organizing, to effectively garner support and drive Razom’s established advocacy efforts.
• Exceptional writing skills with the ability to produce high-quality content quickly, with minimal need for edits. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting op-eds, white papers, briefing materials, and leave-behinds that are cogent, concise, persuasive, and emotionally resonant. The ideal candidate can adapt their writing to disparate formats and audiences, delivering clear and compelling outputs under tight timelines.
• Rich understanding of American society, culture, economics, and politics across disparate geographies and a strong ability to draw linkages between these patterns and U.S. foreign policy.
• Strong ability to communicate persuasively and tailor messaging in both written and oral formats, with experience engaging diverse audiences, including grassroots organizations, policymakers, and the general public.
• Extensive experience with event planning, logistics, and organization. Close attention to detail.
• Proven experience managing multiple competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with experience in planning and executing events, mapping key stakeholders, and delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Longstanding familiarity with Ukraine and a track record of supporting its fight for a stable, prosperous, secure, and democratic future. An understanding of Ukraine’s politics, culture, and economy. Ability to explain the relevance of Ukraine’s victory to Americans with differing degrees of interest, translating complex national-security and democratic stakes into persuasive, accessible arguments.
• Ability to act as a self-starter and proactive driver, taking initiative to generate ideas, tackle challenges, and move projects forward without needing constant direction, while consistently demonstrating enthusiasm and a sense of urgency to achieve results.
• High-degree of cultural competence, emotional intelligence, and ability to work collaboratively and inclusively across diverse groups with a sensitivity and appreciation of cultural differences.
• Possess the ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally as required, sometimes on short notice.
Preferred qualification:
• Demonstrated capacity to engage with people across the ideological spectrum, including conservatives and other right-wing audiences, on U.S. foreign policy.
• Experience with public engagement software and systems, including Quorum, Hubspot, PoliticoPro, and other database management or project management and CRM-style tools.
• Ukrainian-language proficiency. Proficiency in Spanish is also a valuable asset.
Logistics and Benefits
• Salary range: $80,000 – $90,000
