Our work is grounded in the evidence that access to books at home and regular shared reading between children and caregivers are among the most powerful predictors of school readiness and long-term academic success Role Description BookSpring is hiring an Associate Director to help lead our next phase of growth and impact. This senior leadership role partners closely with our Executive Director to strengthen fundraising and donor relations, oversee grants and evaluation, and build the systems needed to sustainably scale our statewide family literacy work. Based in Austin with a hybrid schedule, the role is ideal for a strategic, mission-driven leader with experience in nonprofit development, operations, and/or early childhood, education, or family services—and a love of books and reading Qualifications We are intentionally flexible about prior experience and don’t expect everyone to have all the qualities we seek coming into the role.. An ideal candidate might come from: ● K-12 education, early childhood, or literacy programs ● Healthcare settings serving families (pediatrics, family medicine, public health) ● Community development or social services ● Nonprofit operations or program management ● Nonprofit fundraising and development ● Educational Publishing or Instructional Technology 5+ years of leadership experience and advanced degrees (Masters or Doctorate) are encouraged.
