Board Members for Ambient Music Organization

StretchMetal, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ambient music artists and listeners, is seeking additional General Board Members and to fill the role of Board Treasurer.

Board Members play a key role in guiding StretchMetal’s growth and sustainability. You’ll help oversee our strategy, finances, and programs as we expand national programming and strengthen our member-driven community through the Atmospheric Music Alliance (AMA).

Responsibilities

• Participate in monthly board meetings (virtual or hybrid)
• Offer input on strategic planning, governance, and financial oversight
• Support fundraising efforts through outreach, networking, and advocacy
• Serve as a liaison for StretchMetal and AMA, helping to amplify our mission and programs
• Optionally, join a committee (Finance, Development, or Programs) to support specific initiatives

Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit management, finance, business strategy, or marketing
• A strong interest in ambient music, sound, or cultural programming
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and accessibility in the arts

While this role is primarily remote, we’re prioritizing candidates near Chicago, New York City, or the Hudson Valley.
