Position Overview
BOMB’s Circulation manager reports to the Associate Publisher as well as the Editor-in-Chief, oversees all day-to-day retail and subscriber operations pertaining to BOMB’s flagship print periodical.
The Circulation Manager requires an understanding of the periodical marketplace and how innovation can provide the dynamism to maintain and grow the subscriber base and distribution reach of a quarterly print magazine of artist conversation. This position supervises one part-time employee, BOMB's Circulation Assistant.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Developing a comprehensive plan alongside the publishing team to build new subscriber growth. Maintaining existing subscriber stewardship, including subscription renewal campaigning.
- Newsstand and bookstore circulation and subscriber distribution for a quarterly print periodical.
- Collaborating with BOMB’s Managing Editor to liaise with printers, distributors, and logistics professionals to maintain production timelines and USPS standards. Deliver each issue of the magazine to distributors, bookstore, and subscribers.
- Collecting and analyzing all sales and subscriber data, including YOY(year-to-year) retail comparisons, renewal, and churn, and setting monthly and quarterly KPIs for growth, and providing deferred income reporting for the annual audit.
- Working with the Marketing Manager on marketing strategy with a focus on inspiring positive subscriber impressions.
- Acting as the primary contact for USPS and other international mailing organizations, keeping permits current, maintaining mailing funds, and filing all required time-sensitive paperwork.
- Caretaking BOMB’s subscriber, contributor, and donor data in Salesforce and delivering subscriber lists for quarterly subscriber mailings as well as monthly supplemental mailings.
- Administrating BOMB’s digital sales ecosystem and the data management and systems architecture of Salesforce, Shopify, Square, and all constituent software.
- Retail fulfillment of customer orders from BOMB’s office.
- Overseeing all customer and subscriber services, including processing returned and missing issues, address changes, and shipping complications.
- Working and facilitating national art fairs and providing a public face at in-person retail events.
- Maintaining BOMB’s inventory of issues and merchandise and acting as the primary point of contact for BOMB’s warehouse, B2B (business-to-business) wholesale and consignment locations, and institutions seeking rare and archival work for exhibition.
- Managing the Circulation Assistant in the day-to-day upkeep of BOMB’s retail and circulation operations.
Four-day work week with benefits.
Salary range: 65K to 70K depending on experience.
