Company Description Dylan Fernandes for State Senate is a grassroots-focused campaign working in Plymouth and surrounding communities with responsive, accountable leadership, to re-elect Senator Dylan Fernandes. The campaign emphasizes community engagement, responsive to constituent needs, and understandig the Senators policy to address local concerns such as economic opportunity, environmental protection, and access to quality public services. Team members collaborate closely with local residents, volunteers, and partner organizations to build a broad and inclusive coalition. The campaign environment is fast-paced, mission-driven, and supportive of learning and professional growth for individuals interested in politics, public service, and civic engagement.
Role Description The Campaign Fellowship is a, unpaid, part-time, hybrid role based in Plymouth, MA, with a mix of in-person field work and remote responsibilities. Fellows support daily campaign operations, including voter outreach, phone banking, canvassing, event support, and volunteer coordination. Responsibilities include assisting with planning and executing campaign events, tracking voter contacts, maintaining accurate data in campaign tools, and helping manage timelines and priorities. Fellows may also contribute to communications efforts such as drafting outreach materials, social media content, and email updates under staff guidance. This role offers hands-on experience in electoral politics, opportunities to develop organizing and leadership skills, and exposure to campaign strategy and management.
Qualifications
- Commitment minimum of 10-15 hours a week at least 2 days in person
- Campaign Management and Campaigns skills, including interest or experience in electoral organizing, voter outreach, and volunteer coordination.
- Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage respectfully and clearly with diverse community members.
- Analytical Skills to interpret voter data, track outreach metrics, and support data-informed campaign decisions.
- Project Management skills to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and follow through on responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to public service, civic engagement, and inclusive, respectful teamwork.
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends as campaign needs require, and to travel locally within and around Plymouth, MA.
- Comfort using basic digital tools (e.g., spreadsheets, email platforms, shared documents); familiarity with campaign software is a plus.
- Previous campaign, organizing, or community engagement experience is helpful but not required; students and first-time campaign staff are encouraged to apply.
