Liban Mohamed for Congress is a grassroots movement focused on building a new generation of leadership in Utah. After winning the Utah Democratic Convention, our campaign has emerged as the leading campaign in Utah’s new Congressional District 1 race — one of the most important opportunities in the country to help expand the Democratic coalition and contribute to the growing blue wave nationwide.

Our campaign is centered on community engagement, people-powered organizing, and bringing fresh voices into the political process. We are building a fast-paced, mission-driven team committed to public service, voter outreach, digital engagement, and authentic conversations with communities across the state.

Interns and team members will gain hands-on experience working on one of the most exciting and closely watched grassroots campaigns in the country.

Role Description

Interns will primarily support field organizing and voter outreach efforts, including:

  • Canvassing and voter contact
  • Community engagement
  • Volunteer recruitment and mobilization
  • Campaign events and grassroots organizing

Additional opportunities may include:

  • Social media and digital organizing
  • Content creation
  • Rapid response communications
  • Political research and campaign operations

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for public service, political advocacy, and community engagement
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team and adapt to changing priorities
  • Prior experience in political campaigns, nonprofits, organizing, or related fields is a plus

What You'll Gain

This is an unpaid internship position that may qualify for college credit depending on your institution’s requirements. If selected, interns will begin on Wednesday, May 20, and serve through the primary election on June 23, 2026.

Pending a successful outcome in the primary election, there may be opportunities to extend the internship or transition into paid roles within the campaign.
