The Opportunity
As the Campaigns Associate at Emerson Collective (EC), you will support the development and execution of rapid response communications, policy, and advocacy campaigns that align with Emerson Collective's goals.
This role reports to the Director, Campaigns.
Role and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with issue leads, internal teams, and external partners to implement and coordinate rapid response communications, policy, and advocacy campaigns.
- Work closely with the MD, Communications & Campaigns and Director, Campaigns to implement and coordinate strategic plans, tracking and measuring impact along the way.
- Provide research, input, and guidance as it relates to various campaigns.
- Draw from research, data, and other contributions internally and externally to help craft messaging that accurately communicates our work and issues to target audiences, including for high-level engagements with partners, executive leadership, elected officials, policy makers, and other stakeholders.
- Support in the development and management of an up-to-date database for contacts and key partners
- Track media coverage of campaigns, stakeholders, partners, key leadership, and important issues related to various campaigns.
- Regularly track and evaluate metrics of success and adapt strategies to grow and improve outreach results over time.
- Assist the Director, Campaigns, in managing communications, operations, and logistical aspects of campaigns and support press-related activities, research initiatives, data analysis, and event coordination.
Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements
- Two to four years’ experience in campaign coordination, communications, or advocacy work.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Adaptable to rapidly changing priorities and able to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high quality work products.
- Alignment with EC’s mission and passion for social impact.
Location
Emerson Collective is a Bay Area-based organization with offices in Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. This position is located in Washington DC and is onsite four days per week.
