Direct Reports: Director of Residential and Day Services, Director of Vocational & Family Support Services, Director of Florida Services

Job Summary:

The Chief Mission Officer (CMO) serves as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for ensuring that all programs, services, and organizational activities advance the organization's mission of empowering individuals with disabilities to live meaningful, self-directed lives within their communities. The CMO provides strategic leadership, oversight, and accountability for residential, day, vocational, family support and respite services while promoting person-centered practices, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and organizational growth.

Mission Leadership:

  • Serve as the primary steward of the organization's mission and strategic service initiatives.
  • Ensure all programs and services align with the organization's vision, values, and person-centered philosophy.
  • Promote a culture focused on inclusion, independence, self-determination, and community engagement.

Program Operations and Service Delivery

  • Provide executive oversight of residential, day, vocational, family support and respite services.
  • Ensure service quality, operational effectiveness, and positive outcomes across all programs.
  • Lead development and evaluation of program goals and performance metrics.

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with CARF, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation, Florida Vocational Rehabilitation, Georgia DBHDD standards, Medicaid waiver requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Oversee quality assurance, incident management, and corrective action plans in accordance with Easterseals procedures.

Strategic Planning and Organizational Growth

  • Participate in development and execution of the strategic plan.
  • Identify opportunities for program expansion, innovation, and service enhancement.
  • Develop feasibility studies for new and existing services and locations.

Leadership and Talent Development

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and supervision to program directors and other program senior staff.
  • Promote accountability, performance measurement, professional development, and employee engagement.

Quality and Outcomes Management

  • Monitor service quality and individual outcomes.
  • Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Community and Stakeholder Relations

  • Build relationships with individuals served, families, advocates, regulatory, referral, and community partners.
  • Represent the organization in community and advocacy activities.

Financial Stewardship

  • Support budget development and financial performance monitoring.
  • Promote efficient use of resources while maintaining quality services.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in administration and/or field related to rehabilitation, special education, or education (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Five years of experience working with persons with disabilities.
  • Five years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit, healthcare, developmental disabilities, or human services organizations.

  • Expertise in strategic planning, quality assurance, and organizational leadership.

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and person-centered services.
  • Experience leading multi-site service organizations.
