Job Description
HealthShifts, an innovative start-up co-owned by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), California Pharmacists Association (CPhA), and Locumate, is seeking a transformative Chief of Business Development (CBD) to propel our company’s growth and impact in the pharmacy sector.
As CBD, you will set the strategic vision and direction for HealthShifts, overseeing daily operations, cultivating a culture of trust, and ensuring effective alignment with the Board of Directors. You will lead the development and execution of multi-year strategic plans, drive sustainable growth, and position HealthShifts as a leader in pharmacy staffing solutions. Your role will include overseeing fiscal activities, spearheading sales and pipeline generation, collaborating on product development, and expanding our client base across pharmacy chains, health systems, and other employers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop actionable strategies to achieve Board-approved priorities and measurable outcomes
- Monitor industry trends and drive innovation in pharmacy staffing
- Own the end-to-end sales process, from lead generation to close
- Deliver financial oversight including budgeting, reporting, and forecasting
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and external partners
- Motivate and develop a high-performing team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
- Master’s in business administration (MBA) or equivalent
- At least 15 years of progressive leadership in operational, strategic, and financial roles
- Visionary leadership in healthcare, especially pharmacy
- A track record of innovative growth in the healthcare sector
