The San Pedro Region, in particular, offers basic necessities such as food, shelter, utilities, clothing, transportation, case management, and community resource links for homeless and low-income households. This region oversees one homeless shelter—for families, pregnant women, the disabled, and the elderly. It also manages three community centers, two of which function as food pantries.
The Client Services Regional Coordinator's -Prevention Eviction Specialist responsibilities include:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Prevention & Eviction Specialist Case Manager to join our team. This team plays a vital role in bridging service gaps for families experiencing or at risk of homelessness, particularly those requiring intensive case management and problem solving conversations to navigate through their current homeless crisis.
Requirements:
- Must be comfortable working with multicultural ethnic groups like African Americans, Asians, and Hispanics
- Must possess knowledge and experience in working with homeless individuals and be familiar with the McKinney-Vento Act
- Proficiency in written and oral communication, computer skills—specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Clarity, and HMIS
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working with clients with severe and persistent mental illnesses and substance abuse disorders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Three to five years of related experience
- Must have a valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
- Must have knowledge of Problem Solving and Diversion techniques
