Job Description
The Manager of Communications reports to the Senior Director of Communications for PepsiCo Beverages North America, South Division (PBNA) and is responsible for collaborating on the strategic development and execution of comprehensive U.S. communications plans for the Division, including beverage brands in the PBNA portfolio and brand internal communications. This includes working with leadership to align on annual communications priorities, providing strategic counsel, and managing day-to-day PR activities, including external communications programs, media outreach, concept development and execution.
This role will be a critical driver for South Division PBNA communications priorities - working with executives, including VPs and Senior Brand Directors as well as members of the Corporate and Global beverage group team - to develop and implement communication strategies that amplify brand initiatives in the South Division, while also feeding into the broader PBNA story.
Accountabilities:
Collaborate on the development and execution of communications plans to support key beverage brands that leverage key consumer insights
Collaborate with groups to align on South Division initiatives global beverage team on global brand initiatives
Collaborate with PepsiCo Corporate comms team to support PepsiCo communications priorities
Assist in the management of issues/crisis management plans specific to managed brands
Develop internal comms plans to support South Division key initiatives
Ensure that the PR team (internal and agency) consistently deliver quantity/quality of earned media impressions against pre-determined program goals
Identify, retain and manage agency partners to deliver cost-effective programs
Collaborate communications for and provide strategic counsel to brand teams on high-level partnerships and programs including key talent deals, sports and media partnerships
Cultivate strong relationships with key media partners
Drive awareness of brand programs and elevate the reputation of brands against pre-determined brand health metrics
Coordinate with cross-functional partners to ensure brand programs are vetted and approved
Coordinate with partners in communications to protect brand/company reputation and ensure timely and effective reactive communications and issue/crisis management
Qualifications/Requirements
7-10 years frontline PR experience, including direct media contact, development of media materials, strategic planning and agency management
Experience managing brand communications in fast-moving consumer goods category preferred
Ability to take others along and drive alignment
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience with social media programs, including Twitter, Instagram and Facebook
BA in Communications, PR or related field preferred
Travel ~25% of time
