Job Description
Position Summary: The Operations and Membership Manager helps implement operational functions across NAFO’s internal teams. The position reports directly to the Vice President for Operations and supports all staff as part of an integrated professional team. This position provides an opportunity to be part of a leading advocacy organization that advances private working forests as a solution for clean air and water, wildlife habitat, and jobs through sustainable practices and healthy markets.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update NAFO’s membership database (Salesforce), ensuring accurate and complete integration of data used on NAFO’s website and in external communications.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, assist with dues calculation, and coordinate with outsourced accounting and auditing firms on monthly and year-end reconciliations.
- Assist staff with internal and external scheduling and logistics for meetings and travel.
- Serve as a point of contact for member company senior executives and their assistants on all aspects of NAFO operations. Provide staff support to the President & CEO, Board of Directors, Board-appointed committees, and issue area task groups.
- Assist with administration and reporting for NAFO PAC.
- Provide onsite membership and board meeting assistance.
- Support general operations and office functions, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Operations or related experience required.
- Strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
- Proficiency with database management and MS Office tools. Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Capable of managing multiple projects to consistently produce high-quality work.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team, while meeting deadlines.
- An active listener with excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills.
- Able to exercise good judgement and discretion.
- Must be located in greater DC area as position is based out of our DC office.

Compensation & Benefits: The salary for this position is $60K (with a +/- range commensurate with experience) exclusive of performance-based compensation and benefits. All full-time, exempt NAFO employees are eligible for a generous benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, matching 401(k), and PTO.
