Community Impact Specialist I

The In-N-Out Burger Community Engagement department and Community Impact team has an excellent opportunity for a Community Impact Specialist I in the Irvine, CA* office. The Community Impact Specialist will report to the Community Impact Supervisor and will be responsible for assisting with the coordination and execution of all aspects of the Community Impact Team’s Associate volunteer programs and community-based programs. This person will be a team member of the Community Engagement department, which includes the In-N-Out Burger Foundation, Slave 2 Nothing Foundation, Fundraising, and Donations.

General Responsibilities

• Assist with the coordination and planning of volunteer events, such as regional service projects, donation drives, give back activities and fundraising events to support our Foundations
• Help with the coordination of all volunteer programs
• Coordinate and assist with the planning of regional service projects and supporting any community engagement efforts to advance the Community Impact Team’s goals
• Track and report on volunteer and community impact metrics, including participation rates, impact measurements, and volunteer satisfaction feedback
• Collaborate with internal departments and cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of volunteer and community impact initiatives
• Represent In-N-Out Burger’s Community Engagement Department when meeting with community organizations, non-profits, and other stakeholders to identify and prioritize volunteer opportunities that align with the company’s giving strategy
• Assist with the development and maintenance of ongoing, positive relationships with community partners, sponsors, and volunteers to support continued engagement
• This position plays a critical role for In-N-Out Burgers in achieving the 3rd part of the mission purpose statement
• Provide additional assistance to the Community Engagement department as needed

Work Schedule + Benefits

• Full-time, Hourly, Non-Exempt
• Pay Range is $30.00 - $35.00* per hour. *The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors
• Office Hours in Irvine, CA: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
• Department needs will call for occasional evenings and weekends
• Travel time: It is anticipated that 10% of the work time will be spent in the field, which includes travel to all states where INO operates

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Non-profit, Human Services, Social Science, Business, Social Welfare or a related field preferred
• In-N-Out Burger Store associate experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Volunteer coordination, event planning, or corporate social responsibility
• A heart for working with and service those affected by Hunger and Homelessness
• A heart that is passionate about serving people and caring for the community
• Strong interpersonal skills with a people-first mentality and a passion for great customer service as a representative of the Community Impact team and In-N-Out Burger
• Excellent written communication skills
• Strong verbal communications skills
• Strong office computer skills: Intermediate level Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Experience with Asana or other task management software preferred; CVENT
• Experience with VolunteerHub, a volunteer management software, is a plus
• Works with a high level of integrity and consistently carries themselves with tact and professionalism

Work Location Details

In-N-Out Burger plans to bring its west coast headquarters team back together under one roof by the end of 2029. After maintaining two Southern California office locations for many years, the company will permanently close its Irvine office in 2029 and once again headquarter the company’s western territory solely in Baldwin Park, California, where the company was founded in 1948.

Newly hired Associates in Irvine will be eligible to participate in the group move to Tennessee with relocation assistance or work from our western headquarters in Baldwin Park, CA, upon its opening in 2029.
