Pay Range:  $20.51-$25.64

OVERVIEW

The Coordinator provides administrative and research support to the Foundation Relations Officer. Primary responsibilities include prospect research, proposal and report preparation, donor stewardship, and benefits and recognition fulfillment.  Excellent oral and written communications skills and attention to detail are essential. Must be able to juggle multiple, concurrent projects and seek information/project planning details from multiple, internal departments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Prospect Management & Research - 30%

  • Identify and research prospective corporate and foundation funding sources as directed by the Corporate and Foundation Giving Officers utilizing directories, periodicals, and internet research.
  • In tandem with the Corporate and Foundation Giving Director, help identify giving priorities of existing corporate or foundation donors for future proposal preparation.
  • Work cross-departmentally to learn about long-term exhibition, program, and event planning to identify corporate giving and recognition opportunities.

Cultivation & Solicitation Support – 30%

  • Draft proposals based on institutional priorities and needs of the funders; work with Marketing to determine type and value of benefits to be offered for corporate donors.
  • Maintain proposal calendars and/or track all completed and pending tasks in contact management database.

Stewardship & Benefit Fulfillment – 40%

  • Work cross-departmentally to collect and synthesize institutional data to prepare stewardship reports for all corporate and foundation donors.
  • Craft timely pledge and gift acknowledgments for all corporate or foundation support.
  • Provide administrative support for all benefit fulfilment, including ensuring all corporate and foundation recognition requirements, credit lines, etc. are accurate and satisfactory to the donors.
  • Assist with corporate event planning and execution as needed.

PERFERRED SKILLS 

  • Exceptional persuasive writing and proposal-creation skills
  • High level of organization and accuracy
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, social media, contact management software, and the ability to learn organizational specific programs
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and ability to work effectively across multiple departments
  • Must reflect an optimistic, persevering, flexible, and positive attitude

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

  • Undergraduate degree required; minimum two year’s work experience in a not-for-profit preferred
  • Experience in marketing and/or donor relations preferred
