Job Description

The Role

Children of Armenia Fund (COAF) is a non-profit, founded in 2003 with a mission to empower young Armenians in rural communities. Through a comprehensive approach focused on education, healthcare, and economic development, COAF has impacted over 75,000 beneficiaries and completed more than 110 infrastructure projects across Armenia.

COAF is seeking a Development Associate to support day-to-day development operations, donor engagement, and organizational execution in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

This is a highly hands-on role on a small team, ideal for someone who is operationally strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable working behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly while contributing to a meaningful mission. The right candidate will be equally confident managing data and CRM systems, building reports and PowerPoint presentations, and supporting events and communications from start to finish.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a lean, roll-up-your-sleeves environment, can take ownership of tasks with minimal oversight, and enjoys balancing multiple priorities.

This position is based on site in New York, NY (5 days/week).

In the role you will:

Development Operations & Data Management

  • Maintain and manage donor data within CRM systems (e.g., Network for Good, Salesforce, or similar)
  • Track donations, pledges, and campaign performance using spreadsheets and internal tools
  • Ensure accuracy, organization, and cleanliness of donor data and reporting
  • Pull and analyze data to support internal reporting, donor insights, and decision-making

Reporting, Presentations & Materials

  • Build clear, compelling PowerPoint presentations for leadership, board meetings, and donor updates
  • Prepare reports and summaries on donor activity, campaign performance, and event outcomes
  • Support creation of internal and external-facing materials

Donor Support & Communications

  • Assist with donor acknowledgments and communications
  • Support execution of email campaigns, newsletters, and outreach efforts
  • Help manage and segment contact lists for targeted communications

Events & Execution

  • Support planning and execution of events (including COAF Gala and smaller engagements)
  • Coordinate logistics such as guest tracking, materials, and communications
  • Assist with post-event reporting and follow-ups

General Team Support

  • Partner cross-functionally with U.S. and Armenia-based teams
  • Take ownership of ad hoc projects and administrative tasks as needed
  • Operate with a “roll up your sleeves” mindset in a lean team environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1–3 years of experience in a nonprofit environment (required)
  • Experience working with a CRM system and managing data/spreadsheets
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and execute independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience supporting events or donor-related activities
  • Familiarity with email marketing or newsletter tools
  • Interest in mission-driven work, particularly within Armenian communities
