Position Summary As part of a highly collaborative team, the Development Associate will support the fundraising goals of Children's Museum of Pittsburgh (CMP) by providing administrative support across a variety of department activities and functions, and providing stellar customer service to supporters.

Essential Job Duties Administrative Support
  • Work with Tessitura (CRM system) to build reports, complete list pulls, and produce acknowledgements.
  • Maintain department trackers to ensure timely and efficient work across grants, sponsorships and giving portfolios.
  • Maintain the department calendar and assist in scheduling for the Director of Development and Senior Director of Development.
  • Produce invoices for sponsorships and pledges.
  • Maintain organized filing systems.
  • Manage department supplies and inventory including print collateral.
  • Support the creation and delivery of annual fund appeals, seasonal donor newsletters, donor recognition and annual report.
  • Participate in advancement-related functions such as design/preparation of materials, event logistics and post- event follow up based on individual skills and office needs.
Customer Service
  • Answer phone calls and emails, forwarding them to team members as appropriate.
  • Greet donors and guests at events and gatherings.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Follow all processes and procedures established by the department.
  • Maintain all donor data in accordance with the Association of Fundraising Professionals' Donor Bill of Rights and Children's Museum of Pittsburgh's policies and procedures and adhere to AFP Code of Ethics.
  • Demonstrate leadership in working with other colleagues to cultivate creativity and problem-solving, achieve quality and efficiency and promote teamwork in support of CMP goals.
  • In collaboration with the Senior Director of Museum Development and fellow team members, establish annual and long-term goals and metrics to meet revenue goals.
Job Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field required.

Experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in a non-profit organization with preference given to experience in a fundraising-related.
Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in database environments and Microsoft Office suite, including Excel.
  • Self-directed learner and motivated team player; curious, creative and persistent.
Physical Requirements & Equipment Usage
  • This position is primarily sedentary in nature. No excessive physical effort required, however, the position may require lifting or moving items with assistance such as for mailings or events.
  • It will be necessary to move about Museum in normal course of administrative and professional activities.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment.

  • In-office work during business hours Monday-Friday, with occasional remote flexibility, based on operational needs. Occasional weekend and evening hours required for events.
  • Duties will be performed in a museum environment, which includes interaction with the public and exposure to children and families.
Clearances
  • FBI fingerprint results, PA Child Abuse History Certificate (Act 33) and PA State Police Criminal Check (Act 34) are required.
