Job Description
Love telling meaningful stories, connecting with people, and keeping all the moving pieces organized? This role brings all three together!
Hearts Alive Village is looking for a Development Coordinator to join our team full-time in Las Vegas. We’re working remotely for now, but starting in January 2027, we’ll get to see each other every day when this role transitions to full-time in-office.
We’re building a stronger, more sustainable fundraising program, and this role will help bring our mission to life. You’ll share stories of impact, support fundraising campaigns, create meaningful experiences for our donors, and build the systems that keep everything organized and moving forward.
Why You’ll Love This Role
If you’re someone who loves turning stories into meaningful connections, making people feel appreciated, organizing projects, and finding better ways to keep things running smoothly, you’ll feel right at home here.
You’ll work closely with our Development Manager and team while growing your skills in fundraising, donor stewardship, communications, and development operations. And as Hearts Alive Village continues to grow, this role offers a path toward Development Manager based on your performance, strengths, interests, and our organizational needs.
What You’ll Do
At the heart of this role are four things: telling stories that inspire, creating meaningful donor experiences, executing with care, and growing through collaboration.
You’ll:
- Lead donor communications and storytelling. Draft newsletters, appeals, impact updates, and other donor-facing communications, while building an organized library of stories, photos, and content that showcase Hearts Alive Village’s impact.
- Coordinate donor stewardship and engagement. Keep acknowledgments, thank-you communications, recognition, and donor follow-up on track, and help create thoughtful experiences throughout the donor journey.
- Support fundraising communications and campaigns. Help bring annual appeals, giving days, digital campaigns, and event communications to life through content, email marketing, donor segmentation, website updates, and donor-focused social media.
- Own the day-to-day CRM and development coordination. Help lead the selection and implementation of a donor CRM, including platform research, configuration, data migration, gift-entry and acknowledgment workflows, and ongoing database management. You’ll also support fundraising calendars, project tracking, grant deadlines, and reporting.
- Work across the team to keep things moving. Partner with the Development Manager and program staff to gather impact stories and outcomes, participate in development planning, coordinate with vendors as assigned, and represent Hearts Alive Village professionally with donors, volunteers, partners, and community members.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone with:
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 2+ years of experience in nonprofit development, communications, donor relations, marketing, project coordination, or a related field
- Strong writing, editing, organizational, and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and a collaborative work style
- The ability to handle donor information professionally and confidentially
- Comfort learning and configuring new software systems while keeping records accurate
Experience supporting fundraising campaigns or donor stewardship, working with donor CRMs, email marketing platforms or Canva, coordinating creative vendors, or supporting grant applications and reporting is a PLUS!
The Good Stuff
This full-time role offers a salary of $40,000–$55,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package after the introductory period, including 13 PTO days, medical insurance with 50% of the employee premium paid by Hearts Alive Village, life insurance with medical enrollment, 401(k) and other retirement options, an Employee Assistance Program, six paid holidays, and one of our personal favorites: 50% off the already reduced veterinary care rate for your pets.
A Little About Us
At Hearts Alive Village, we’re giving animals a voice and working toward a future where we can help even more of them and the people who love them. We’re growing, investing in our people, and building a fundraising program that can support our mission for years to come.
If you’re ready to bring your creativity, organization, and heart to a team where your work can make a real difference, we’d love to meet you!
