We equip pro-life individuals to speak the truth about the dignity of every human person and to take meaningful action to protect the most vulnerable. Position Summary The Development Director is responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to advance the mission of Voices for Life. This includes major gifts, monthly giving, special events, grants, and donor stewardship. The ideal candidate is a relationship builder with a passion for life, excellent communication skills, and a proven record of inspiring generosity. This position requires travel within Indiana and occasionally to other states as Voices for Life expands its programs and partnerships. This position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is supported by the Chief Operating Officer and Development Committee. Key Responsibilities Fundraising & Strategy ● Develop, implement, and evaluate an annual fundraising plan that supports organizational goals and growth. ● Cultivate and solicit gifts from individuals, foundations, and businesses. ● Prioritize being in the field frequently to develop relationships with current and potential donors. ● Lead and grow the monthly donor program. ● Plan and execute fundraising events in collaboration with staff and volunteers. ● Work with the Development Committee to research, write, and manage grant proposals and reports. ● Stay current on fundraising trends in the non-profit community. Donor Relations & Stewardship ● Build authentic, long-term relationships with donors through personal outreach and engagement. ● Evaluate and evolve the current donor stewardship plan. ● Work with COO to maintain accurate donor records and gift tracking within DonorPerfect. Communications & Collaboration ● Lead and manage the Development Committee. ● Work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and Development Committee to identify and engage potential supporters. ● Collaborate with the communications team to develop compelling fundraising materials and digital campaigns. ● Represent Voices for Life at events, churches, and community gatherings. Qualifications ● Deep personal commitment to the mission and values of Voices for Life and the pro-life cause. ● Visionary, self starter, assertive, and an inspirational team leader. ● Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, business, or related field (or equivalent experience). ● Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, donor relations or direct sales. ● Demonstrated success in securing major gifts and leading fundraising campaigns. ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills. ● Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through. ● Proficiency with DonorPerfect, Asana, and Google Workspace is a plus. ● Willingness and ability to travel within Indiana and to other states as needed. ● Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven environment. ● Be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement.
