Job Description
Commitment: 15 - 20 hours per week over a 3–6-month period, minimum of 100 hours. Starting no later than October 1st, 2026.

PAWS Chicago is seeking a detail-oriented, relationship-oriented intern with a passion for animals and an interest in nonprofit development. The development intern will gain hands-on experience supporting fundraising, donor relations, and administrative operations. Ideal candidates can work both independently and collaboratively, communicate professionally with donors, are comfortable with data, and have an enthusiasm for mission-driven work.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Development Intern will assist the Development Team with administrative and donor database support. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assist with donor database entry and maintenance in Raiser's Edge

Support fundraising campaigns and events

Assist with donor communications and interactions

Organize and audit electronic and physical filing systems
Requirements

Excellent people skills and phone skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail

Friendly, professional, and team-oriented attitude

Organized with strong multitasking skills

Ability to quickly learn organizational programs and processes

Interest in providing administrative support to improve efficiency and workflow

Experience with Microsoft Office; Excel proficiency preferred

Genuine interest in animal welfare and the No Kill movement
