Role Overview

CGCN is seeking a Director of Compliance to coordinate the firm’s contract administration and lobbying disclosure reporting functions. This individual will oversee the full lifecycle of client engagement agreements, ensuring contracts are accurate, compliant, and executed in a timely manner. In addition, the Director of Compliance will support the firm’s federal lobbying compliance operations by maintaining lobbying registration records, preparing and filing disclosure reports, monitoring reporting deadlines, and serving as a key resource for compliance-related matters across the organization.


The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced government relations environment.


Key Responsibilities


Lobbying Disclosure Reports


  • Prepare, review, and file federal lobbying disclosure reports (LD-1 and LD-2) in accordance with the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA).
  • Coordinate with lobbyists, attorneys, and account teams to collect and verify lobbying activity and client information for reporting purposes.
  • Maintain accurate records of lobbying registrations, terminations, amendments, and quarterly activity reports.
  • Monitor reporting deadlines and ensure all federal filings are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Research and interpret lobbying disclosure regulations and provide guidance on reporting requirements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for lobbyists regarding registration, disclosure, and compliance questions.
  • Develop and maintain internal procedures, reporting calendars, and compliance workflows.
  • Assist with client onboarding by coordinating registration requirements and disclosure obligations.


Contracts


  • Manage the full lifecycle of client engagement agreements, including drafting, revisions, execution, renewals, and terminations.
  • Prepare and distribute client contracts, amendments, statements of work, and related documentation.
  • Track contract status and ensure timely execution of agreements by clients and firm leadership.
  • Maintain an organized contract repository and ensure all executed agreements are accurately filed and readily accessible.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, lobbyists, finance, and business development teams to facilitate contract review and approval processes.
  • Review contracts for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with firm policies and approved terms.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries from internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of contract management procedures and best practices.
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive client and firm information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve contract administration processes and increase operational efficiency.


Accounts Receivable (temporary assignment)


  • Own the end-to-end accounts receivable process
  • Manage new client financial onboarding, including setting up billing details and systems
  • Prepare, send, and track client invoices on a recurring and ad-hoc basis
  • Monitor collections and follow up on outstanding invoices
  • Resolve billing questions with internal teams and clients


Qualifications & Skills


  • 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, operations, administration, or a related field preferred but not required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage deadlines and recurring tasks
  • Comfortable working in spreadsheets and learning new systems
  • Clear communicator who can coordinate effectively across teams
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
