Development Manager ( Fundraising)

Art Forum SF is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Development Manager to lead and accelerate our fundraising efforts during an exciting period of growth. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about the arts, deeply connected to community, and motivated to build sustainable funding streams that support South Asian literature and the arts in the Bay Area.
Art Forum SF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting diverse art forms originating from South Asia. By showcasing visual, literary, and performing arts, Art Forum SF amplifies South Asian voices and fosters cross-cultural appreciation. The organization serves as a collaborative platform for artists to innovate while preserving their unique identities and connecting with global audiences. Through initiatives like the South Asian Literature & Arts Festival (SALA) and year-round programming, we create platforms for dialogue, creativity, and cultural exchange.
This is a full-time, role based in Silicon Valley, CA, for a Development Manager. The Development Manager will be responsible for planning and executing fundraising strategies, building relationships with donors, securing sponsorships, and managing donor communication. The individual will work closely with the Executive Director, Board, and Advisory Board. Also work to identify new funding opportunities, maintain detailed records of fundraising efforts, and ensure development goals align with the organization's mission and vision for promoting South Asian art.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan to meet and exceed revenue goals
- Cultivate and manage relationships with individual donors, including high-net-worth supporters
- Identify and secure corporate sponsorships and partnerships
- Lead donor communications, including campaigns, newsletters, and personalized outreach
- Partner with Board and Advisory Board members to leverage their networks for fundraising
- Plan and execute donor events and stewardship initiatives
- Track and report on fundraising performance, maintaining accurate donor records
- Proven experience in fundraising, and sponsorship development
- Skills in strategic planning, data analysis, and relationship building
- Strong written and verbal communication, including proposal writing
- Knowledge of nonprofit operations and a passion for arts, culture, or South Asian heritage
- Flexibility, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Understanding of the South Asian arts ecosystem is a plus

Competitive, commensurate with experience. This is a full-time role for a minimum of 6 months, with potential for extension based on performance and organizational needs.
