Job Description
Cancer Support Community North Texas (CSCNT), a non-profit organization dedicated to uplifting and strengthening people impacted by cancer by providing support, fostering compassionate communities, and breaking down barriers to care seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented Development Manager.
Reporting to the Development Director, this position will serve as the support contact for all agency development efforts. This position plays a crucial role in supporting fundraising operations and donor relationship management, working in a variety of ways to help generate financial resources for the organization.
The Development Manager manages the planning and coordinating of all fundraising events, performs prospect research and analysis, and will assist in cultivating donors, both individuals and corporate, as well as manage a portfolio of assigned donors and prospects. In addition, this position is responsible for supporting the annual campaign including managing fundraising appeals and acknowledgement letters, processing donations, and entering and tracking data into the database for reporting and strategy development as well as annual campaign and marketing purposes.
Works in a team environment with the CEO, Development Director, Communications and Marketing Manager, Grants Writer, Business Manager, Program staff, and community volunteers. Additionally, travel will be required as CSCNT services the entire DFW Metroplex.
Responsibilities
- Manage all logistics for special events, working with committees and contracted vendors as needed.
- In collaboration with Development Director and Communications and Marketing Manager, implement, and track annual campaigns, per the Development plan – including stewardship, fundraising appeals, giving days, monthly donor program, and year-end.
- Create and manage mailing lists for fundraising appeals and events, ensuring accuracy.
- Cultivate and solicit assigned donors, and make discovery calls to assigned prospects, tracking all activity in donor database.
- Research donors and prospects, creating confidential donor profiles for housing within donor records.
- Produce revenue reports, reconciling with the Business Manager’s Quicken reports, and generate all monthly, quarterly, and annual fundraising reports with accuracy.
- Conduct all gift entries, including timely gift acknowledgement letters, and ensure accurate donor records management for tracking fundraising activities and results.
- Support the CEO and Development Director in donor visits and meeting preparation.
Required skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- At least 3 years of proven fundraising experience
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising software (Gnosis preferred but not required) and tracking tools
