Senator Andy Kim seeks a creative, driven, and graphically minded Digital and Communications Assistant, who will play a key role in shaping the office’s social media presence and digital outreach. This is a full-time position that may require availability on nights and weekends to support an active digital operation.

The Digital and Press Assistant will be based in New Jersey and report to the Digital Director and Communications Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Create digital content, including copy, graphics, animations, and video using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, Audition, After Effects).
  • Create and manage content for Senator Kim’s social media platforms.
  • Work with Digital Director and Communications Director to develop creative and innovative content to promote the office’s agenda and vision.
  • Clip TV appearances, hearings, and all video content for social media using SnapStream.
  • Assist with drafting and sending out the Member’s newsletter, press releases, statements, talking points, floor speeches.
  • Work with the Communications Director to maintain press lists.
  • Work with the state office to publicize constituent services and events.
  • Manage live-streaming and photography at events, press conferences, and NJ-based events.
  • Help manage Press intern with rest of the communications team.
  • Assist with updating the website.

The position requires attention to detail and strong written and oral communication skills along with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team environment. The ideal candidate is self-starter with technical skills and an interest in video recording and editing, photography, and branding. New Jersey ties and Spanish fluency are a plus but not required.
