Job Description
The Office of Rep. Jasmine Crockett seeks a creative and motivated Digital Assistant/Director (title commensurate with experience) to support the office’s fast-paced digital communications, design and outreach operation. The ideal candidate has experience creating and designing graphics, video, and overall digital strategy to communicate with clarity and creativity. This role will be based in our Washington, DC office.
The Digital Assistant/Director will be responsible for managing the Congresswoman’s social media channels and creating a digital strategy for platform growth, under the supervision of the Communications Director.
The ideal candidate has:
- Strong communications skills (writing, editing, proofreading)
- Clear sense of successful social media writing; narrative voice
- Ability to perform rapid response based on breaking news
- Strong digital design skills
- Understanding of online social media tools including platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, Adobe Premier, etc. Experience producing excellent written and visual content, including graphics and video, for a variety of social media platforms
- Ability to develop effective and long-term digital growth strategy
- Demonstrated ability to lead/contribute to social media planning for a national voice
- Thorough knowledge of the news cycle and ability to closely follow issues the Congresswoman is focused on
- A strong team ethos and desire to be a part of a learning culture
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting implementation of digital communications by developing and executing digital strategy aimed at platform growth,
- Drafting social media content plans, writing social media copy, assisting with press materials, creating graphics and videos (includes clipping and captioning)
- Managing the Congresswoman’s website and leading monthly e-newsletters
- Assisting Communications Director with creating coherent messaging across social media and traditional press appearances
- Tracking social media analytics
- Supporting the Outreach team and Communications Director with logistics for town halls, press conferences, and other public events, both virtual and in-person
Previous Hill or campaign experience preferred. Texas ties a plus. Design background preferred.
