Position Summary
Job Title: Digital Engagement Director
Location: Washington, D.C., or Mesa, AZ
The Office of Congressman Greg Stanton seeks a dynamic and creative professional to serve as Digital Engagement Director. This senior role leads the Congressman’s digital strategy, crafting compelling online narratives and building an engaging presence across all platforms.
The Digital Engagement Director will oversee and manage all office digital platforms—including social media, website, e-newsletters, and multimedia production—and work closely with senior staff and the Member of Congress directly to execute an aggressive digital communications strategy.
We’re looking for someone with a strong background in video production and graphic design, sharp political instincts, and bold ideas who thrives under pressure and knows how to shape compelling digital narratives that break through the noise.
This person will balance daily digital tasks (like editing videos and drafting social copy) with longer-term, more strategic initiatives. The work you do will matter as our digital footprint is an essential part of the Congressman’s work to shape the conversation locally and nationally. Core Responsibilities
Digital Strategy & Innovation
- Develop and execute an innovative digital communications strategy that aligns with the Congressman’s legislative and constituent priorities.
- Lead the office’s social media presence across all platforms, ensuring content is engaging, authentic, and responsive to current events.
- Identify creative new ways to engage constituents online, including live content, influencer partnerships, and emerging platforms.
- Develop and manage digital advertising budget, including influencer engagement and promotional strategies.
Content Creation & Management
- Produce high-quality short-form videos, graphics, and multimedia content from concept to execution.
- Design digital and print assets that align with the office’s brand and style guide.
- Manage the Congressman’s e-newsletter and SMS program, using data and best practices to expand reach and drive action.
Rapid Response & Digital Monitoring
- Track local and national stories to identify opportunities for timely engagement.
- Work closely with the Communications Director and legislative staff to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms.
Analytics & Optimization
- Monitor performance metrics and use data to refine strategies and improve outcomes.
- Prepare regular reports on the effectiveness of digital campaigns.
- Engagement tracking of influencer amplification and priority reposts.
Minimum Qualifications (Required)
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in digital communications, with a focus on video, design, and content creation.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and other design tools.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with an understanding of how to tailor content for different audiences and platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated judgment, discretion, and professionalism in politically sensitive contexts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in political campaigns, congressional offices, or government communications.
- Familiarity with Arizona’s Fourth Congressional District and/or ties to the region.
- Experience with influencer outreach and managing partnerships.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position with occasional evening and weekend work required to support rapid response efforts and events.
- This role involves frequent collaboration with teams in both Washington, D.C., and Arizona, with travel between locations as necessary.
- Ability to adapt to fast-changing digital trends and work effectively in a high-energy, highly collaborative environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience.
