GiGi’s Playhouse is a network of 61 Down Syndrome Achievement Centers across North America and Mexico, headquartered in Hoffman Estates, IL. The Nashville location provides free educational, therapeutic, and career training programs for individuals with Down syndrome from infancy to adulthood. The programs aim to develop a range of skills, including literacy, math, social skills, speech, motor skills, and independent living. Dedicated to breaking barriers, GiGi’s Playhouse empowers individuals and their families to reach their full potential with confidence, independence, and joy. All services are offered at no cost, ensuring accessibility for everyone.
Role Description
The Director of Development is a full-time, on-site role located in Brentwood, TN. The role involves overseeing, planning, and executing comprehensive development strategies to meet fundraising goals. Responsibilities include managing annual and planned giving initiatives, cultivating relationships with donors, identifying funding opportunities, and overseeing budgets for development programs. The role will collaborate with community leaders and organizations to increase philanthropy and ensure sustainable support for GiGi’s Playhouse programs.
Qualifications
- Experience in Planned Giving and Annual Giving programs
- Proficiency in Fundraising and cultivating philanthropic relationships
- Competence in Budgeting and financial planning for development efforts
- Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with donors, sponsors, and the community
- Visionary leadership and excellent organizational abilities
- A passion for inclusivity and commitment to enhancing opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Experience in nonprofit development or a related field is highly desirable
