Sisters Academy of Baltimore is a private, faith-based, tuition-free middle school for girls from families with limited economic means. Co-sponsored by four religious congregations, the Academy serves students from grades 5 through 8, offering a holistic education with small class sizes, an extended school day, and summer programs. Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Baltimore, MD, for the position of Director of Development. The Director of Development will lead and implement the Academy’s fundraising and philanthropic initiatives. Responsibilities include managing and growing planned giving and annual giving programs, cultivating donor relationships, developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies, overseeing budgets related to development activities, and ensuring alignment with the school’s mission. The Director will collaborate closely with school leadership and external stakeholders to sustain and expand the institution’s financial support.
Qualifications
- Experience in Fundraising and Philanthropy, including building relationships and engaging with donors
- Expertise in Planned Giving and Annual Giving programs, with a demonstrated track record of success
- Strong skills in Budgeting and financial planning for development initiatives
- Ability to develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire stakeholder engagement
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degree or certifications in fundraising or nonprofit management are a plus
- Experience working in a faith-based or mission-driven organization is desirable
