Zoo Miami Foundation (ZMF), is the non-profit partner of Zoo Miami. While Zoo Miami is maintained by Miami-Dade County, ZMF supports mission-driven initiatives such as education, conservation, and infrastructure upgrades to enhance animal welfare and visitor experiences. Funded by contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government entities, ZMF operates impactful programs and major capital projects across South Florida. With one of the largest membership bases in the region, ZMF is dedicated to inspiring community engagement and action for global conservation efforts.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Miami, Florida, for a Director of Major Gifts and Capital Campaign at Zoo Miami Foundation. The role involves developing and managing relationships with major donors, overseeing planned and annual giving programs, and leading all aspects of capital campaigns to secure funding for Zoo Miami's mission-driven initiatives. Additional responsibilities include identifying and cultivating donor prospects, orchestrating stewardship opportunities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve the Foundation’s fundraising goals.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Planned Giving and Annual Giving to develop and manage strategies for donor contributions and sustained support.
- Expertise in overseeing Alumni Relations and Stewardship efforts to foster long-term donor relationships through meaningful engagement and recognition.
- Experience in conducting Prospect Research to identify and cultivate potential major donors and effectively match them with the organization’s needs.
- Strong leadership and project management skills to oversee capital campaigns and coordinate multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage donors, corporate partners, and community advocates in funding the organization's mission.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree or certifications in fundraising or nonprofit management are a plus.
