GALvanize USA seeks an Organizing Director! The Director of Organizing is responsible for the multi-channel roll-out of GALvanize USA campaign strategy, program components, and activities. We are seeking someone who can hold GALvanize USA’s overall theory of change and engage, motivate, and inspire our audience with compelling calls to action. The Director of Organizing will be responsible for managing a team of remote organizers, maintaining nationwide and state-based relationships, and overseeing vendors and contractors. 

Responsibilities and Tasks 

The Director of Organizing reports to the Campaign Director and will be responsible for the following:

  • Implement strategy using digital and field tactics that promote GALvanize USA’s theory and approach to women’s civic empowerment
  • Remotely manage and develop a team of organizers
  • Build and maintain relationships with state-based partners
  • Partner with the Content Strategist to identify content needs and support development of key program components for partners, volunteers, and program participants
  • Pivot tactics as needed to meet short and long-term goals
  • Develop and execute an evaluation plan in partnership with the Content Strategist to gather, summarize, and integrate quantitative and qualitative learnings on organizing strategy and tactics
  • Miscellaneous 
  • All employees of Hopewell Fund are required to complete timesheets
  • Performs other duties as needed

We are seeking candidates who are excellent managers, energetic, strategic, and passionate about unlocking the power of women to advance progress for all. You should have:

Education and Experience:

  • 4-6 years of experience working in advocacy and/or electoral campaigns 
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience leading and managing staff
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Solid understanding and analysis of approaches to power building, organizing, and empowerment
  • Commitment to women’s political empowerment
  • Strong manager who can build a virtual team
  • Creative, dynamic, innovative, strategic, innovative, and fun
  • Ability to travel 1-2 times/month (dependent on COVID-19)

Valued and Non-Essential Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:

  • Familiarity or experience with deep canvassing 
  • Proficiency in and/or the ability to independently master G Suite, Microsoft tools, Slack, Asana, MailChimp, EveryAction, and NGP VAN.
