About Global G.L.O.W./Global Girls Glow

Global G.L.O.W./Global Girls Glow is a 501(c)(3) organization that mentors girls around the world to be powerful advocates and confident leaders. We fuel mentor-facilitated GLOW Clubs in 30 countries. Since inception, our GLOW Clubs have ignited the power of over 91,000 girls to do three transformative things: increase their confidence, strengthen their voice, and build their power. We sharpen girls’ advocacy skills by supporting specialty summits, sponsoring girl-led community advocacy projects, and engaging in U.N. advocacy, reaching 2 million people annually. Our outcomes evaluations demonstrate that girls experience growth in confidence and a more positive future outlook, along with measurable progress in their own lives and in their communities.

About The Role

The Director of U.S. Programs will lead the redesign, pilot, and strategic growth of Global G.L.O.W./Global Girls Glow’s domestic portfolio. This role will serve as the architect of a reimagined U.S. delivery model for adolescent girls programming. This includes mentor pathways, partnership with regional nonprofit structures, volunteer management and program operations, ensuring that GLOW Clubs and youth leadership programs are relevant to the current times and needs of under-resourced youth, high-quality, and aligned with our global Social Emotional Learning (SEL) → voice + agency → power framework.

The Director will oversee a transition period in which existing programs are supported while new models are researched, developed, and tested. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and systems builder who enjoys designing new approaches, facilitating pilots, translating data into program improvements, and strengthening community-based and near-peer mentor pipelines.

Role Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the redesign of Global Girls Glow’s U.S. program model, including new mentor pathways, criteria for partnering with regional non-profits/schools, implementation structures, and delivery systems
  • Assist in conducting listening sessions with girls, mentors, partners, and communities to inform the redesigned model
  • Develop cost scenarios and implementation options for multiple delivery models and mentor pipelines
  • Oversee the pilot plan for the new U.S. model, including program implementation model, mentor recruitment strategies, training needs, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Collaborate with the SEL curriculum consultant to align content with the redesigned U.S. delivery approach
  • Ensure the U.S. model (current and future) is fully aligned with Global Girls Glow’s Theory of Change
  • Provide strategic budgeting inputs and resource planning to support pilot and scale-up phases

Program Implementation Management

  • Assess existing U.S. program implementation non-profit/school partners for alignment with the redesigned model and identify strengths, risks, and transition needs
  • Lead the selection, onboarding, and capacity-building of non-profits/schools for the U.S. pilot implementation cohort
  • Build relationships with universities, community-based organizations, Indigenous organizations, and youth-serving networks to strengthen mentor pipelines and program delivery
  • Ensure all staff, volunteers and program affiliates align with safeguarding, inclusion, SEL, and girl-led principles

Team Management

  • Supervise, coach, and support the U.S.-based staff to foster strong performance and professional growth
  • Lead with empathy and adaptability through program transitions, supporting staff and partners to navigate new frameworks, systems, and expectations
  • Promote a collaborative and inclusive team culture centered on learning, accountability, and care
  • Build out and support a network of highly qualified volunteers as mentors -short and long term, with clear criteria and training for how their “mentorship” can benefit youth.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. Communications, Development, and MEL) to ensure alignment, storytelling, and data-informed decision-making

Program Quality & Implementation

  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based programming aligned with Global Girls Glows Theory of Change and SEL foundations
  • Foster a learning culture by translating monitoring, evaluation, and partner feedback into actionable improvements and innovation
  • Support accurate data collection and reporting to track outcomes and inform continuous improvement
  • Guide the development and rollout of the U.S.-specific mentor and partner training, materials, and events that strengthen advocacy, SEL integration, and programmatic outcomes
  • Lead and support Meaningful Youth Engagement Initiatives in the United States.

Events & Representation
