Ranking Member Martin Heinrich (D-NM) seeks an Energy Policy Director to join the Democratic Staff of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee. As a member of the senior staff, this position reports to the Staff Director and is responsible for leading a team of professional staff members and delivering on Ranking Member Heinrich’s short- and long-term legislative energy priorities. Core duties include effective team management, developing and executing energy policy initiatives and Administration oversight, and collaborating with key committee stakeholders. An advanced degree is preferred, alongside substantial experience on Capitol Hill or within the Executive. This is not an entry level position; 8 to 10 years of related policy experience, an advanced knowledge of the Senate legislative process, direct experience working on issues related to the Department of Energy (DOE), and prior experience managing a team is required. Additionally, this position is required to work in the office. Our team is driven by a desire to make a difference.
