Job Description
Earthworm Inc. is a small, friendly recycling organization located in Somerville, MA. We are a growing e-waste non-profit that collects electronics, paper, cardboard, and bottles & cans from businesses all over Greater Boston.
We are seeking someone who has truck driving experience and could drive a 22' box truck. The position is 35 hrs/week (M-Th, half days on Fridays).
The main task would be assisting on our local trucking routes as both a solo driver and as part of a team of two. The position is ideal for someone who has an interest in electronics, as there is also room for taking on other responsibilities such as assisting in our warehouse sorting and palletizing electronics we’ve collected.
The ability to perform strenuous physical activity as well as be organized and complete paperwork is required. This is a great opportunity to develop multiple skills, have fun and make a difference.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience driving a truck
- Driver’s license with proof of clean driving record
- Willingness and ability to do physical work
- Friendly demeanor and ability to work well with customers and coworkers
- Interest in helping the environment
Helpful Skills:
- Knowledge of the Boston area
- Basic computer skills
- Warehouse skills (operating pallet jack, shrink wrapping pallets, etc)
- Aptitude for deftly taking electronics apart
- Environmental project/job experience
