Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY
This position is responsible for developing and executing the Epson Tour’s communications agenda, crafting compelling written content, coordinating messaging across channels, and supporting the storytelling that brings the Epson Tour to life for fans, media, and sponsors. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer with a sharp editorial instinct, a passion for sports storytelling, and the ability to produce polished content under deadlines.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Content Writing & Storytelling
- Write and edit press releases, player bios, tournament recaps, and feature stories for distribution to media and publication on Epson Tour channels
- Develop compelling round recaps, post-round interview write-ups, and long-form narratives that highlight players and tournament moments
- Craft captions, copy, and written posts for Epson Tour social media platforms (Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook)
- Ensure all written content adheres to brand voice and messaging guidelines
Communications & Media Relations
- Support media relations efforts including distributing press materials and responding to media inquiries
- Work with the content team to develop and maintain consistent social media brand messaging
- Collaborate with Epson and Epson Tour marketing teams to align communications strategies
- Coordinate with tournament staff on event-specific communications needs and messaging
Content Coordination & Organization
- Manage editorial calendar and ensure timely delivery of communications content across platforms
- Maintain organized archives of written content, press materials, and player communications assets
- Stay current on social media best practices and digital communications trends to inform strategy
- Support graphic creation for social media using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite as needed
- Conduct post-round media interviews and coordinate with photographers for supporting visual assets
Basic Content Production & Editing
- Perform basic editing of podcast episodes or other video projects, including trimming, sequencing, and light audio clean-up using Adobe Premiere Pro
- Edit and lightly retouch phone and field footage for use on social media and digital platforms using Adobe Premiere Pro and Lightroom
- Use Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom for basic photo editing, color correction, and image preparation for web and social use
- Coordinate with the content team to ensure all produced content meets quality and brand standards before publication
- Other special projects or duties as assigned
WHO YOU ARE
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field
- 1-2 years of full-time experience in communications, marketing, sports media, or a related field, internships and campus experience counts
- A strong writer who takes pride in clear, engaging, and error-free copy across different formats and audiences
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite software applications
- Excellent project and time management with a sense of urgency for deadlines
- Creative and critical thinker with strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively within and across diverse groups
- Previous work in golf tournaments or sports event communications/management preferred
- A professional image, willingness to travel, eagerness to work as a team and be self-motivated
- Background in social media platforms including, but not limited to, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook
