POSITION SUMMARY
The Event Sales Manager plays a key role in driving revenue and engagement through strategic promotion and sales of museum-hosted events. This position is responsible for identifying and cultivating event sales opportunities, managing client relationships, and ensuring seamless coordination between internal departments and external partners.
As a representative of the museum’s mission and values, the Event Sales Manager delivers exceptional service while promoting the museum as a premier venue for corporate, nonprofit, and private events. This role requires strong sales acumen, organizational skills, and a passion for cultural and faith-based engagement.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively identify and pursue event sales opportunities with corporate, nonprofit, and private clients.
- Develop and maintain relationships with event clients, vendors, and partners.
- Conduct site tours and presentations to prospective clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Events, Development, Guest Services) to ensure successful execution of events.
- Manage contracts, proposals, and event logistics from inquiry to completion.
- Track sales performance and maintain accurate records of client interactions.
- Support marketing efforts for event promotion and lead generation.
- Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, hospitality, or related field.
Skills / Core Competencies
- Proven experience in event sales, hospitality, or venue management.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in CRM and event management software.
- Energetic, self-motivated, and goal-oriented.
Abilities / Attributes
- Passionate about the Bible and committed to the museum’s mission.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
- As needed, inclusion in official or incidental photographs and videos for MOTB and/or guests.
